Spanish Cream Pie

My grandma’s favorite Spanish cream pie recipe.


  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 3 Tablespoons cornstarch (heaping)
  • 2 cups milk
  • 3 egg whites
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla


Heat milk. Make mixture of sugar and cornstarch. Add 1/4 cup of hot milk to make paste. Add paste to hot milk. Cook until thick.


Add vanilla and fold in stiffly beaten egg whites. Put into baked pie shell.

Top with whipped cream tinted pink. ( I don’t usually tint mine unless I’m going  somewhere).
